Newsletter - Spring / Summer 2005 We are G R O W I N G !! Parking Lot ExpansionThe front of the center will have a new look this summer. Thanks to the tireless efforts of Dave Taylor and the financial support of board member, Doug Johnson, a new parking lot now graces the Mission Center. S&M Paving of Elkton, MD. completed the paving on April 4th. Dave Taylor and Frank Rinaldi added the finishing touches of paint to mark off the parking spaces. Due to the work, the Center had to be closed April 4th and 5th and reopened for business on the 6th. We are extremely thankful to Mr. Johnson who was gracious enough to loan the Center the necessary funds for the project. Kitchen ExpansionIn a continuing effort to serve free, hot lunches on Fridays, we are working to expand the kitchen and dining area. Financial grants have been approved for the purchase of a commercial stove and sink. And we are pleased to have received all the building permits and approval from the health department. Work on the new kitchen should begin with in the next few weeks. We are currently accepting financial donations to be used toward the kitchen project. If you are able to assist us, please use one of the "Donations" buttons on this site to send us a donation via your credit card or you may mail a donation to the address on our "Contacts" page. Any funds received for this project will go directly to the completion of the kitchen renovation. Please consider making a financial contribution to the Ray of Hope and help us continue to feed hungry families. Currently, we serve an average of seventy people each week. We hope to see a completion of the work by the end of June. Please keep this project and the Center in your prayers.
